1stdibs Homepage Rework
Rework of the 1stdibs homepage, including newly added personalization and updated layouts for weekly updated marketing material and “shop by” section, as well as a completely separate Trade specific homepage

Combining elegance and functionality, the 1stdibs home page allows users to both discover new ideas, or find items targeted toward their tastes.

Personalization
While the home page mainly features updated marketing material such as the carefully curated "Editor's picks", the Product team also wanted to introduce personalization as well. We added the "New arrivals for you" section based on the user's latest browsing data, gating them toward listings that will be of interest to their latest search.

Marketing Framework Refresh
We also refreshed the marketing framework where the content is updated weekly by the marketing team, and have additionally added promotion of 1stdibs magazine and blog - “Introspective” and “The Study.”
The “Shop By” section were once just links off to the side but we brought them to life with curated content and a more prominent “shop by location”.

Trade Specific Homepage
Our Trade users have a different mindset when shopping on 1stdibs, as they are constantly searching for items for their ongoing projects. Since they have a lot to manage, we converted the top of the homepage into a dashboard so they can get a quick view of their rewards progress, things to take action on, and favorites.
We also wanted to provide a personalized experience as well, like the consumer home page.
Other priorities were showcasing the latest and best makers to designers, as well as showcasing designers who’ve been published on 1stdibs. The reason for this is to incentivize designers that haven’t added projects to their profiles yet, because this will increase their chance of being published as well.
This project was done in collaboration with my colleague and manager, Thalith Nasir, who worked on the bulk of the framework, and full research as well.
